Supporting Families

At For The Child, we believe in building positive relationships with families to provide essential support. We assist with managing behaviours, ensuring safety, and advocating at meetings.  Our expertise extends to helping with Disability Living Allowance (DLA) forms and offering guidance on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as the EHCP process.

Initial Consultation

This consultation will be an opportunity to gather information and discuss what bespoke support can be provided. It will be for up to 2 hours and a written report, written outside of the time, will be provided.

Attending meetings/Advocating for your family

We can attend meetings, for example, EHCP, formal meetings with the school or with other professionals and be the advocate for your family.

We will discuss with you prior to the meeting how you would like us to support you.

Behaviour Observation/Support in the home

This will be for up to 2 hours, where we can and visit you at home and observe interactions and behaviours in the home.

We will give you suggestions and strategies to help you manage situations.

A written report will be provided after the visit.

"Pupil Expression" sessions
These are exclusive to "For The Child"

We use a range of activities, including play to build a positive relationship with your child.

Unlike other sessions, we will build trust with your child, so we can talk to them about issues they may be experiencing.

We will feedback to you after each session and agree how we will tailor them to support your child.

Behaviour Observation

This will be for up to 3 hours in a school setting (with their permission.) This will include an observation of your child in the school setting, discussion with staff including strategies and feedback to you.

The written report can be submitted as part of an EHCP.

Support with anxiety, behaviour management, attendance at school and much more....

We can offer support and advice and practical strategies, as well as 1 to 1 sessions/small group sessions to help you to help your child.
